Meet our Leadership

Rev Sara Appleyard-Pekich is an ordained minister in the Reformed Church in America. Sara graduated from Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL with a BA in Theology and Church Education. She then went on to get her Masters of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, MI. She has served as a minister at Southside Mission in Peoria, IL, Woodstock Reformed Church, Woodstock NY, and The Reformed Dutch Church of Claverack, Claverack, NY.

Sara has a lifetime of experience engaging with individuals with developmental disabilities and over a decade of experience working in both residential services and care management for those with developmental disabilities. Sara has a passion for disability advocacy and sharing the love of God with those in the margins. Sara lives with her family in Hurley, NY where her husband Rev. Bill Appleyard-Pekich, is the pastor of Hurley Reformed Church. Sara and Bill have two amazing children, Liam, 13 and Barabra, 8. Both children are Kingston Youth Lacrosse players and enjoy keeping their parents on their toes. The Appleyard-Pekich family are also avid dog lovers and have three rescue dogs, Negan, Rizzo, and Rex.
